Even when the storms are surging around;
The Eternal Rock that was cleft for me,
The palm that was nailed for this scoundrel,
Hide me from the tempest in Thy lacerated side.
Though the entire world may turn against
Not even one soul stands by my side;
Oh! my Saviour be my shadow at my right,
Hide me under the cover of Thy feathers.
When my cup is filled with grave sorrows,
And melancholy becomes my portion;
Lord fill me with Thy Eternal happiness
That nobody can tear apart from me.
The Eternal Rock that was cleft for me,
The palm that was nailed for this scoundrel,
Hide me from the tempest in Thy lacerated side.
Though the entire world may turn against
Not even one soul stands by my side;
Oh! my Saviour be my shadow at my right,
Hide me under the cover of Thy feathers.
When my cup is filled with grave sorrows,
And melancholy becomes my portion;
Lord fill me with Thy Eternal happiness
That nobody can tear apart from me.
