The story of the kingfisher

Long time ago in the city of Permin, where all the Perminates are wonderful fishers, ruled by the wonderful king Peradim, our story of the Kingfisher begins...
King Peradim was the wonderful fisher of the entire Permin. He fished every day and every night. He aced in the skill of fishing. He had a flawless knowledge about every nook and corner of the river that ran around Permin. The very emblem of the Permin kingdom is the beautiful symbol of fish. You will find all kinds of fishes there. Fishes somersaulting blissfully, diving enthusiastically, having a wonderful time...
One day, which the Peraminates now call as the day of Peradim, the king Peradim went fishing. He fished from morning to evening without a single catch. He wondered aloud "Where did all the fish go today?” He was beginning to feel very disappointed. As darkness began to envelope the city, he thought of giving a one last try. He took the best bait that he had, gathered his entire strength, and gave a one last attempt.
To his surprise, he did catch a fish, a big one too. The skin of the fish glimmered in wonderful colors of the rainbow, whose colors reflected on the waters of the river. It was the most beautiful one he had ever seen in his life.
He was shocked beyond words when the fish began to talk. It pleaded him for mercy. It said “Please Peradim, I am just like you, I am the king of the river Peradim.
“Please leave me back into the river.”
Peradim thought for sometime. He thought about the pity state of the fish. Then he thought about the disappointment that he would have to face if he returns back to the palace empty handed. With the latter thought overcoming the former, he decided to take the fish home. The fish still continued to plead. When it realized that he was not going to leave it alone, it thought of a very smart plan. It challenged him saying “I challenge you for a game. If you win, you can take me home. If not, I will change you into another form.”
Without a second thought, Peradim agreed.
                   The fish continued…
“The challenge is very simple. If you will contain water in the raiment that you have, you can take me to your home.”
                   Yup… You guessed it right!

Peradim failed to a fish! And the fish turned him into a fish. He is still now a wonderful fisher. He continues to fish with grace. From that day on he got his second name, by which you all know him as “The Kingfisher”. The Peraminates still celebrate the day as the day of Peradim or as the day of fishing.
